I've owned rescues all my life so I'm confident in handling almost any unique personality your fur baby may possess. I'm also qualified in behaviour modification (most of which can be adapted and translated across to both cats and dogs) While I am comfortable with dogs, I have far more experience and expertise specific to our feline friends.
Are there any medical conditions, current injuries, or special needs that I should be aware of? If so, how can I best support their health needs (e.g. administering medication, special diet, etc.)? Is there any other form of care I can provide your fur babies beyond feeding/watering/walking/poop-scooping/playing/cuddles? Would you like me to collect your mail or undertake any other basic peripheral household tasks? Should your pets stay either inside or outside the home? Is there anywhere they shouldn't go or anything they shouldn't do (e.g. strictly not allowed on the couch/bed, walking on benchtops/tables, scratching furniture/curtains, etc.) so I can ensure behavioural expectations remain consistent in your absence? How can I ensure your pets are as happy and comfortable as possible while you're away? Do they have a special blanket, a favourite toy, or a special treat, for example? Conversely, is there anything specific that your fur baby doesn't like or that might cause discontent; anything I should avoid or minimise as much as possible (e.g. being picked up, patting their belly, etc.)? Finally, would you be interested in receiving pictures or brief daily check-ins via text for peace of mind while you're away?
I'm currently out of work and am studying part-time on a super flexible schedule. I've had cats throughout my whole life (all rescues) and am confident in my approach and in reading their behaviour to determine what they do and don't like. Overall I have a very strong understanding of most domestic animals however my expertise and experience is easily dominated by cats.
